SparKey+ integrates RadioSet-GO’s capacitive touch sensing circuit, with K1EL’s K16 programmed keyer IC. The combination provides responsive touch sensing and iambic CW keying, with good RF immunity. It is a universal, rechargeable, take-it-along Morse paddle in a rugged metal housing that fits in the palm of your hand, and weighs 1.6 oz.
SparKey+ is ideal for a Morse transmitter that does not have a built in keyer (or even a sidetone), like some QRP kit radios, but will work with any radio in straight key mode. For portable use, it is easy to send CW while holding the key. It can also be magnetically secured to a clipboard, or a leg strap. At home in the radio shack, a magnetic base will hold the SparKey+ in place on the desktop.
Turning the switched potentiometer will power the SparKey+ ON/OFF and also change the sending speed on the go. An upper and lower range can be set anywhere between 5 and 99 WPM. A fixed, ‘favorite’ speed can be set at the lowest limit of the potentiometer. Read more here.
